Seminar review: On March 11, 2008 a Seminar which was organized from the North Carolina Chapter of the German-American Chamber of Commerce (GACC) took place in Charlotte with the following topics

On the subject of the application "Beibehaltung" there were enacted appropriate administrative regulations and they also modify the conception „fortbestehende Bindungen/still existing commitments“ to Germany:

• Relationship to near relations in Germany

• Real Estate in Germany

• Residence in Germany – owner-occupation

• If the applicant receives or expects pension or insurance benefits

• Still existing commitments could also exist if relatives are active in international or foreign companies or institutions

• the Person who has its generally residence temporary abroad for occupational or business reasons if the activity abroad is in German interests or by their spouses and children
